2025 Grand Marshal Contest
Want to be a Grand Marshal for the 2025 Crofton Pride parade? This year, we are asking Grand Marshal applicants to answer one of these questions creatively:
- What does Pride mean to you?
- Why is Pride important?
Crofton Pride organizers will review the applications and choose two Grand Marshals for the parade.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm EDT on May 18, 2025.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- In grades 6-12 for the 2024-2025 school year
- Live in the Crofton area
- Available to attend the parade and resource fair on June 21, 2025
Submission Guidelines
Your application must include a creative answer (entry) to one of the questions. The entry may take any creative format, including written, audio, video, or physical artwork. Here are some examples of formats you can use:
- Essay
- Drawing
- Animation
- Poem
- Song
- Sculpture
- Digital Artwork
- Short Story
- Short Film
Here are the guidelines you must follow for your submission:
- Written entries should not exceed 500 words in length.
- Audio/video entries should not exceed 3 minutes in length.
- If your entry is in a physical format (such as a sculpture or watercolor), please take a high-quality photo or video of it and include that with your application.
- All work must be original and the sole creation of the applicant. No elements can be taken from another source unless the content is used under fair use.
- The use of AI is not permitted. AI may not be used to generate graphics, artwork, or essays.
- Only one submission per applicant will be accepted.
- Applications and entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm EDT on May 18, 2025.
- By submitting your entry, you grant Crofton Pride the non-exclusive right in perpetuity to display your work online or in any other forum that the public may view. When you complete the application, you will be able to choose a “Public Name” that we will use when sharing your entry.
You will need to include a link to a publicly shared electronic version of your entry in your application. That means you will need to upload the entry to a service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or YouTube, which allows you to create a public link to share with us. Double-check to make sure the link is public and doesn’t require a login to view.
